Creating a training program and conducting professional courses for hippotherapy students (between 1994 and 2010 PHA trained more than 1600 instructors of physical recreation specializing in hippotherapy).
In 2010 PHA introduced a new profession, a hippotherapy instructor (3230060), into National Standard Classification of Occupations derived from International Standard Classification of Occupations of 2008 (ISCO-2008). It was included into the category of medical professions.
In 2011 PHA developed and implemented the training program for hippotherapy instructors. Training graduates who have a medical, psychological or pedagogical degree may independently conduct Equine Facilitated Therapy according to their education.
PEFTA provides continuous education for active equine facilitated therapists in a form of equine facilitated therapy workshops, conferences and seminars.
PEFTA organizes training programs in equine facilitated therapy for physicians. It published a guide for doctors on including equine facilitated therapy in medical treatment.
Equine facilitated therapy centers whose work standards meet Canons of Polish Hippotherapy are under the patronage of PEFTA. These centers are offered individual and group consultations by PEFTA specialists. In 2021, 36 equine facilitated therapy centers were under PEFTA patronage.
